Welcome to Etonbury Academy
Thank you for your interest in our school. Etonbury is a thriving, happy and successful school that has changed remarkably over the last three years. I hope this prospectus gives you a flavour of the high standards the students achieve at Etonbury as well as the extent to which our students enjoy their time at Etonbury. Our academic standards are impressive, rivalling local outstanding schools. It comes as no surprise to any visitor why Ofsted were so impressed with the school and why we are now oversubscribed. We accept only the highest quality teaching and push our children to achieve excellence.
Alongside our established ethos of high achievement, we take pride in our requirement that children work to develop themselves, their families and their community. This is particularly noticeable in the requirement that all students undertake Community Service Projects. The scope of these projects has been wide ranging from school-based to international projects with students serving others around the world. At Etonbury we take seriously the possibility that our future leaders, whether local, national or international, start developing at an early age and expect our students to take this development seriously. Indeed, when you walk around our school you’ll find projects costing up to £50,000 that have been led by our students.
In 2011 Etonbury underwent a significant transformation by becoming an academy and, along with Robert Bloomfield Academy, became a founder member of Bedfordshire East Multi-academy Trust (BEMAT). We have benefitted greatly from working alongside such established excellence and share many teachers and leaders between the two schools. Knowing that our students are of the highest calibre, parents can feel confident that they can settle for nothing less than the highest levels of achievement. In the summer of 2012, our school joined Robert Bloomfield in the elite national network of "Teaching Schools" run by the National College of School Leadership (NCSL). Teaching School status recognises our partnership’s success in developing high quality leadership and teaching. As an Academy we have also enjoyed the increased spending power and independence that comes with the status. Indeed, over the past two years nearly £1.5 million has been invested in the fabric of the school alone in order that our children can enjoy the very best facilities.
The Future of Etonbury is very, very bright. We are a confident school achieving brilliant success and
looking forward to substantial growth. Our age range now includes students aged 13 – 19 and we
expect to be delivering GCSE subjects in 2015. Our students are hungry to learn and staff are
prepared to push the students to achieve only the best results. I love being part of this outstanding
school and am very proud of the achievements of the teachers and students at Etonbury. The best
way you can see why I’m so proud is for you to book a visit through the front office - email@example.com.
Prepare to be impressed!
